Accessing Treatment

Accessing Treatment
There is not one treatment that works for everyone, to accommodate this there are a range of providers and services that work hard to support their patients where they can. Butte Glenn Opioid Safety Coalition recognizes the challenges to accessing treatment for substance use but is committed to championing every service in our area and country that uplifts those seeking for help.

Medicated Assisted Treatment
For opioid use disorder there are three widely used medications that help a person enter, maintain, and taper treatment: methadone, buprenorphine/Suboxone, and naltrexone. These medications have decades of evidence for their safety and effectiveness. As with all medications, each person’s experience is different so talk with your doctor about options.
