Butte-Glenn Medical Society welcomes all physicians to our 2022 Virtual Grand Rounds!

Join us every Fourth Thursday from 12:15 to 1:15 pm online. Add these dates to your calendar as a reminder. All welcome! CME will be provided to all who register in advance. Registration and CME are compliments of Butte-Glenn Medical Society and Enloe Medical Center.

Hospice & ​Palliative Care
Aldebra Schroll, MD
This Virtual Grand Rounds is presented by Aldebra Schroll, MD. Dr. Schroll is a Hospice & Palliative Medicine Specialist in Chico, CA. She will be discussing an overview of palliative care and hospice. She will be reviewing prognostic awareness and capacity, and conversation tools for working with patients facing serious and terminal illnesses. Dr. Schroll will also be covering POLST and advance directives.

Transgender Hormonal Therapy
Celeste Reinking, MD National Coming Out Day is in October. This Virtual Grand Rounds is presented by Celeste Reinking, MD of Northern Valley Indian Health. Dr. Reinking will discuss puberty blockers for transgender adolescents as well as hormonal therapy for adults from the medical provider’s perspective. At the end of the session, participants will be aware of current expert recommendations regarding evaluation and management of adolescents presenting with gender dysphoria; be familiar with the medications used to treat gender dysphoria in adolescents, and the indications for each; be able to discuss possible side effects associated with the use of puberty blockers; and be more comfortable prescribing and monitoring effective doses of feminizing and masculinizing medications in transgender adults.
