Butte-Glenn Medical Society welcomes all physicians to our 2023 Virtual Grand Rounds!

Join us every Fourth Thursday from 12:15 to 1:15 pm online. Add these dates to your calendar as a reminder. All welcome! CME will be provided to all who register in advance. Registration and CME are compliments of Butte-Glenn Medical Society and Enloe Medical Center.

"Non-fatal Strangulation"

Dr. Sean Dugan is a pediatrician associated with the Shasta Community Health Center. In this Virtual Grand Round, participants will understand the pathophysiology of strangulation, including mechanics, relation to the airway, and arrest of craniometrical circulation. Participants will be able to recognize the acute and delayed consequences of non-fatal strangulation. From this Virtual Grand Round, participants will learn how to apply changes to the evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and referral for strangled patients encountered during their practice.

"Adverse Childhood Experiences"

Dr. Aldebra Schroll is board certified in Family Medicine and Hospice/Palliative Care. In this Virtual Grand Round, participants will review definitions for trauma and ACES. Dr. Schroll will discuss a summarization of a Kaiser/CDC study on childhood ACES. Participants will learn about trauma-informed care for those with dementia and the approaches to responding to patients/clients with a history of trauma.
