Why Butte County and Glenn County?

Butte County is rich with natural beauty that offers many different opportunities in urban and rural environments. Come explore a variety of hiking and biking trails which includes one of the largest municipal parks in the nation, Bidwell Park. Venture into the Plumas National Forest or Lassen National Forest for your next camping trip. Lake Oroville and the Feather River are perfect areas for water recreational activities. There are plenty of unique restaurants, shops, and art galleries to enjoy. The Bidwell Mansion is a historical landmark that resides in Chico, the most populous city of Butte County. The county is home to the beautiful campus of California State University, Chico and Butte College.

To the west of Butte County, Glenn County is an agricultural area filled with rich farmland that is about halfway between Sacramento and Redding. The major commodities in the county are almonds, dairy, citrus, queen bees, and livestock. Outdoor recreational opportunities include the Sacramento River, Black Butte Lake, and Stony Gorge Lake. Located in Glenn County, the city of Orland is growing at a fast rate with great restaurants to try, such as The Hive. Adjacent counties in the region are Sutter County, Colusa County, Tehama County, Plumas County, and Yuba County.
